TODAY IN ALLE-KISKI TODAY
Program Helps Teens In The Work Place
http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/1869
Courtney Flenory of New Kensington knows first hand what it
means not to finish high school and try holding a job. Like a
small group of teens today she dropped out of high school just
before graduation. Then began a cycle of jobs. Her mother
urged her to go to CareerLink and use their services to find
stable employment. What happened when she visited helped turn
her life around, so much so, that today she works for Arbor
Education & Training at their Arbor Career Center located in
CareerLink.
Fox Chapels Faith United Methodist Church Growing
http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/1874
Its hard to believe that ten years ago Fox Chapel United
Methodist Church was ready to close its doors. In fact,
Pastor Larry Fink (now deceased) came with the understanding
he was to close the church. That all changed when he
discovered the small congregation of little more than a dozen
people had hope and faith. Their dedication inspired him to
begin a journey that has resulted in a new church facility, a
new church name and new members.
Local College Students Poem Is Published
http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/news/1931
Shannon Keller Shannon Keller, 24, never dreamed she would
have a poem published one day. She had a learning disability
during her elementary and high school years and schoolwork was
very challenging.

Traveling By Train From Allegheny Township: The train was a
common way of travel from the Kiski Valley to Pittsburgh
during the first half of the 20th century. A typical trip from
the heart of the Valley to the city took about an hour,
including stops-almost better time than today! Read more
