     Board Hears Act 72 Impact

     If  you  haven’t  heard about the Homeowner  Tax  Relief  Act,
     otherwise called Act 72, you need to quickly do a fast  study.
     The  New  Kensington-Arnold  School  District  held  a  public
     hearing  on  Act  72  this  week and the  Board  of  Education
     member’s reaction was almost a state of shock.

     The  Westmoreland 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center, which
     began  formal  operations in March of  1979,  evolved  from  a
     regional 9-1-1 Center founded in November of 1971 to serve the
     central  Westmoreland  County area.  This  pilot  project  was
     housed in the Greensburg Police Department radio room and  was
     primarily a call routing and fire dispatch operation. Read the
