Amateur Radio Class
Skyview Radio Society is having a "Technician Class" Amateur
Radio class at our Clubhouse on Turkey Ridge Road near New
Kensington. Classes will start Thursday, Feb. 10th at 7:30pm.
Classes will be for six weeks (on Thursdays) and are free. The
students only cost is the book "Now Your Talking" that can be
purchased from <http://www.arrl.org> or Amazon.com. Directions
to the clubhouse are on <http://www.skyviewradio.net>.
Amateur Radio is a fantastic hobby with many aspect that would

Black History Program
The Allegheny-Kiski Valley Historical Society in Tarentum will
be featuring a Black History Program on Sunday, February 27,
2005. The feature speaker will be Karen James, Commonwealth
Speaker for the Pennsylvania Humanities. James has documented
the history of African Americans in Pennsylvania and will
present her program, The Fugitive Slave Law, In Pursuit of
Justice to members and friends of the Historical Society at
2:00pm. Also Featuring: The Bethel African Methodist Episcopal
Church Chorus, conducted by Mary Jo Carter. They will be
entertaining with spiritual and gospel music. And: Black
history exhibits and refreshments. Free to the public.
