is a great story of business success, but more importantly, a
business service that enhances and beautifies many local homes
in our region. Come with us to visit Sakala Stone Products and

     COMPUTER~INTERNET TOOLS AND TIPS

     Phishing
Attempts to grab your bank or credit account details with a
sincere looking email and web site continue. These fake web
sites look real but are really just a way to get your account
details. Most of them are easy to detect simply because they
refer to banks you’ve never dealt with. But it can be tricky
if you get a message that appears to come from a bank you do
frequent. If you do get an email from a bank or other
financial institution (including Paypal) then NEVER click on a
link in one of the messages. Even if the link seems to be from
the bank it is really a cunning disguise to take you to
another site. Instead type in the link of your bank yourself
and look for the information on the site manually. For details
on how web links are used and abused see
     http://www.woodyswatch.com/windows/archtemplate.asp?6-08 An
unfortunate side-effect of phishing is that your legitimate
bank emails can get routed to the Junk Mail folder. If you’re
wondering why your bank is emailing you, then that might be
the reason. Add the specific email address your bank uses to
your Safe Senders or whitelist to make sure you get those
messages – but beware of phishing scams using the same from:
address as your bank. Of course there’s all the usual suspects
arriving. The offers to enlarge bodily parts seem to be on the
decline, but prescription medication, cheap software and cheap
Rolex’s seem to be the spammers’ interest at the moment.

Colonel John Armstrong, a Pennsylvania militia leader for whom
Armstrong County is named, led a battalion of 300 men down the
Kiski River in the fall of 1756. His mission: Sneak through
the Kiski Valley and neutralize Kittanning, an Indian town. A
chief named Captain Jacobs had made it his principle base from
which to launch raiding parties on the English and American
colonists. Read more interesting history at Our Local Heritage
