     Blood Donors Needed
Please donate replacement blood for Laurice (Lori) Ellen Galo,
who is in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Lori has already
received over 400 pints of blood. Donors must designate blood
donation is for Replacement Blood for Laurice Ellen Galo, West
Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Sunday, January 30, 2005, 9am-
2pm, N. Apollo Firehall, 311 16th Street, North Apollo, PA.
You can schedule an appointment by calling Cristin Finley at
412-209-7072. Your blood donation can help someone like Lori.
In 1992, now thirty-eight year old Lori Galo, was diagnosed
with a rare type blood clotting disorder -Antiphospholipid
Antibody Syndrome (APLS). Since her diagnosis, Lori has had
many blood clots in her legs and lungs, and now she is
battling a rare side effect of APLS called "Skin Necrosis".
Lori has been in the hospital since November 27, 2004 fighting
this disorder. She has used over 400 units of blood products
to date. On a daily basis, Central Blood Bank needs to
register 725 donors in order to meet the needs of area
patients. Because blood donors took the time to give this gift
of life, Lori has a fighting chance. Please join Lori's family
at this special blood drive in her name. Your blood donation
will help replenish the blood products that she has used so
that others in need will have it. Giving blood is truly giving
     the gift of life.
