Fort-itude: Ft. Crawford (located where New Kensington is
today) was one of ONLY two forts built on America's Western
Frontier along the Allegheny River during the Revolutionary
     War. Eventually, Reed's Station, Craig's Station, Carnahan's
Blockhouse, Orr's Blockhouse and Ft. Hand were added. The
last local fort was finally abandoned around the early 1800s.
