     How Chocolate Works
     http://home.howstuffworks.com/chocolate.htm

Chocolate is a favorite for kids and adults alike. Chocolate
bars, chocolate fudge, chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies,
chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk, chocolate cereal, hot
chocolate, chocolate sauce... There is something special about
this substance -- so special that the average person in the
United States eats 10 pounds (4.5 kg) of chocolate every year!
Have you ever wondered where chocolate comes from? This
edition of HowStuffWorks helps you understand exactly what
     you're eating.

     IF TREES COULD TALK
     http://www.lib.duke.edu/forest/curriculum/

If trees could talk and we could listen, would we be wiser?
The Forest History Society believes that we must understand
the history of forests and their people in order to shape the
future of people and their forests. This 8-module, middle
school curriculum gives teachers the opportunity to download
social studies activities that are based upon archival
materials. The centerpiece of each module is a compilation of
primary resources--documents, maps, newspaper articles, oral
histories or photographs--from which students will be asked to
gather, examine, and analyze information, and synthesize
     insights.

thepi-ki, meaning 'Turkey River Place'. The Allegheny River
could've been called 'the Pulawuthepiki River' instead… and
