     A slimmer, trimmer Plum Township appeared on the scene in 1871
     when  the  area  where  Verona is now  was  born  from  Plum's
     original  acreage. Plum had already given birth to an  earlier
     baby  in  1849  when a large parcel of its land became  Patton
     Twp.   Today  that  land  is  called  Monroeville.  Read  more

     Attracting Hummingbirds and Butterflies
     Saltsburg  Free Library will host a workshop about  attracting
     hummingbirds and butterflies to your garden. Two sessions will
     be held at the library on Salt Street in Saltsburg: March 8 at
     7  p.m.  and March 13 at 3 p.m. The workshops are the same  at
     both   meetings.  There  will  be  slides,  photographs,   and
     handouts.  There  is  no  fee  for  this  workshop.  For  more
