     TO  CALM  NERVES: A doctor from Leechburg in the early  1900's
     bought part of the old Parks Farm near River Road. He intended
     to  turn  it  into a sanitarium for the treatment of  'nervous
     disease', using the 'healing properties' of Alle-Kiski  Valley
     salt  for patients, as in many foreign spas. It is unknown  if
