     natural  selection.   These  units  were  produced  though   a
     collaborative  project involving university researchers,  high
     school  teachers, and students.  Each unit contains  extensive
     information and materials for use in middle or high school.

     Rangers  Wanted:  In the late 1700s, Indians swoop  down  from
     Kittanning   through  the  Kiski  Valley,  raiding   settlers.
     Military  regiments stop some raids into Westmoreland  County.
     But the regiments don't stay, and young pioneer men are called
     to  form  small bands, dubbed "Rangers." Paying for their  own
     arms,  these  marksmen, trackers and scouts become  a  'rapid-
     response'  team, patrolling, and chasing danger through  Bell,
     Washington  and  Allegheny Townships.  Read  more  interesting

     Benefit Dance
     Dance  with live band "BARN HILL" on Saturday January 17th  at
     Parks  Township  Fire  hall in Kepple Hill.  Proceeds  benefit
     Vandergrift  Little League. Dancing starts at 9  PM  and  will
     last until 1 PM. with a break at 11 PM for dinner (include  in
     price). Beer and mixers are included. BYOB. There will be door
     prizes and raffles. Tickets are 15$ for a single and 25$ for a
