     OUR KIDS
Seth Hazlett has always been attracted to the water….even at the
age of two months. Darby said that by the age of 18 months,
Seth was diving in the pool and swimming. It was unbelievable,
she stated, you just couldn’t hold him back! To read more, go

A section of the Vandergrift News

The Kiski valley this week experienced the biggest flood seen
here since the memorable Johnstown deluge in 1889. All the towns
along the river in this section are afloat, houses have been
swept away and industrial operations throughout the valley are
interrupted by the high water. East Vandergrift was covered.
North Vandergrift was also under water as the river crossed the
trolley track and reached back to the foot of the hill.

NEWS FROM THE VICTORIAN VANDERGRIFT MUSEUM AND HISTORICAL
     SOCIETY
Beginning April 6, the Victorian Vandergrift Museum and
Historical Society will be extending their hours. They will
be opened from 10am to 3pm, Monday through Saturday at their
new location 184 Sherman Avenue, Vandergrift. The President,
Anthony Ferrante is proud to be able to offer these hours to
the public. These hours far exceed most local museums. The
other volunteers who work at the museum are looking forward to
     the longer hours as well.

Just a note: There are copies of “Something Better Than The
Best” available to purchase at the Historical Society. I am
not sure, however, how many more copies are left.
