     SALTSBURG LOSES SECOND ROUND PLAYOFF GAME
     The  Saltsburg  Trojans  took a road trip to  Clarion  University
     Tuesday  night  hoping  to  cut short  the  Elk  County  Catholic
     Crusaders  playoff crusade, but instead of delivering the  Trojan
     horse to the Elk County party, the surprise was on Saltsburg. Elk
     County  Catholic defeated Saltsburg in the second  round  of  the
     PIAA Class A playoffs by a score of 62-56. To read more go to:

                         ____HISTORY SHORT____
                                   

     Early schools in Allegheny Township were in terrible condition
     when  the  first school law was enacted in 1834.   The  houses
     were  built  of logs and there were only slabs for  seats  and
