=> The Beautiful, The Exotic - The Enclosure in Plum Boro
          http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/2912

Ever had one of those great ideas that seem so good when you
think them up but quickly turn into a nightmare? It was the
occasion of my daughter's birthday and I wanted to get her
something a bit out of the ordinary.

=> Tarentum Native Seeks To Revitalize His Community
          http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/2939

Bill Rossey knows Tarentum very well. He not only was born
and raised here, but has spent his life in the community.
Every day he leaves his East Second Avenue home and takes a
walk around the community. When he sees Borough signs or
property in need of repair, he alerts the street department
to make them aware of the particular need. Like a farmer
walking his land and checking if everything is o.k., Bill
has a pride in his community.

=> A Nice Story of a Good Path By George
          http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/2911

The American stranger is hopelessly lost in the London
fog... The French have kicked the British and the American
colonists out of the area... Washington was soon
outnumbered, forced to surrender, released and expelled...
Washington’s brigade pitches an unscheduled camp and stays
the night...Allegheny County planners come up with a great
idea in the late 1950s: ring Pittsburgh with large,
undeveloped blocks of land... And in the New Millenium, Tom
Whanger and Gary Rogers, with the help of GPS technology and
Computer Mapping Software, put all these clues together to
find something remarkable right under our noses, and near
         Monroeville and Plum!

=> Attacked by Sword Wielding Japanese Officer
          http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/2940

It is a story right out of the movie “Raiders of The Lost
Arc”. Dean E. Stover of Salina was a Marine Lieutenant
leading his platoon down a jungle path in Guadalcanal when
suddenly a Japanese officer jumped out in front of him
brandishing a sword. He was only a few feet away striking at
Dean with the sword. Dean ducked, pulled his .45 caliber
pistol out and fired three times killing him.

=> Next Family Generation Leads Albert L. Bauer Plumbing
          http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/2935

The next generation of the Bauer family has taken the reins
of Albert L. Bauer Plumbing, Inc. of New Kensington and is
ready to expand the business. Daniel Bauer, son of Albert L.
Bauer, took over the business a few years ago and the
business is doing well. His dad started the business in 1978
and built it on quality work. Dan is now building the firm’s
reputation on quality, dependability and reliability.

=> Oakmont United Methodist A Vibrant Church
          http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/2936

Pastor Keith Dunn characterizes Oakmont United Methodist
Church members as having openness. A friendly and caring
church, it is like one big family that has something for
everyone. And, like a big family, it attracts others. Pastor
Dunn says that newcomers are regularly seen over the year.
The church not only has openness, it also has a growing
          outreach mindset among the members.

This elegant dessert is one I made for my family just
because I wanted to serve them something special. It not
only looks beautiful, it is delicious as well. Just a few

favorites that a friend makes for potlucks is a fruit salad.
You cannot go wrong with it.
