November 18, 2008

The Kiski Area Cheerleaders (from Kiski Area Intermediate and High Schools) took a trip to the November 8th Pitt vs. Louisville game at Heinz Field and got to go on the field sidelines during the first half and cheer the Panthers on to victory.

Alle-Kiski Today's Robin Laero was there, photographing the game and the cheerleaders. Alle-Kiski Today also videoed a few segments of the Kiski Area cheerleaders cheering.

Being down on the field at Heinz Field, in the middle of a major Big East collegiate game, is an incredible experience. With nearly 50,000 fans screaming, the noise is deafening. And there is almost as much action on the sidelines as on the field, between players, cheerleaders, photographers, ESPN, band members and other personnel. It can be a bit overwhelming. Frankly, I don't know how the Kiski cheerleaders were able to remember the cheers or even able to hear themselves! You have to hand it to these young ladies and their sponsors, as well as their hosts, the University of Pittsburgh Cheerleaders. They all did a great job.

We've put our record of the day all together for you in an online music video of photos & video taken during the game. We think you'll enjoy it.

Check it out here.
